1. Submerge the whetstone in water for 10 to 15 minutes to fully saturate it.
2. Position the stone on a stable surface with the coarse side facing upwards.
3. Maintain a 8-15 degree angle between the knife blade and the stone. Gently slide the blade back and forth over the stone, applying light pressure. Continue until you've achieved the desired sharpness.
4. Flip the stone to expose the fine-grit side.
5. Repeat the sharpening process on this side to polish and refine the blade's edge.
6. Rinse the knife thoroughly to remove any debris from sharpening. Dry the knife completely before storage to preserve its condition.
